How To: fix 1/8" headphone jack with broken cord inside

How To: fix 1/8" headphone jack with broken cord inside Video Clips. Duration : 2.67 Mins.

TRANSCRIPT AT THE BOTTOM! This is a how to video for fixing a headphone jack with a broken off cord stuck inside. My wife's laptop had the tip of a 1/8" cord stuck in the headphone jack. This tricked the computer into thinking there was an actual output device connected to it. This then prevented any sound from going in or out of the port. My materials: - superglue -qtip -scissors -pocket knife Please use caution if you try this method. Wayward superglue in your computer certainly isn't helpful. Be careful. Also, this was done on a Mac Book Pro. Laptops, and maybe macs in particular, are so compact that many of the internal components are connected together. When one part needs to be replaced, it may be connected to other parts that are working just fine. --------------- Transcript: This is a pretty cheap way to do this. It may void warranty, it may wreck your computer. It's risky but if you want to save a lot of money, I recommend it. You will need a scissors, a pocket knife, a qtip, and some superglue. First, cut off the end of a qtip so it looks like this. Secondly, depending on the shape of the piece of headphone jack in your port, you may need to bore out some of the qtip. I did this because there was a part of the stuck piece that protruded out. I bored out the center of the qtip with the pocket knife. It gave a little more surface area for the super glue. Put just a tiny amount of superglue on it, you will not need much at all. When you have superglue ready, stand ...

How to Repair Headphone Wires

How to Repair Headphone Wires Tube. Duration : 6.47 Mins.

Hello, Welcome to my fourth installment to my Headphone Repair series. In this video I show how to fix the headphone wire itself. A lot of time a short can occur in the wire (instead of at the plug like I show in my other Headphone videos). Also, headphones wires can get cut or damaged very easily. This video shows you a simple way to make these types of repair. To purchase an inexpensive wire stripper and electrical tape, check out my Amazon Store. Adding headphone monitoring to your Canon DSLR with the Sescom Monitoring cable - DSLR FILM NOOB

Adding headphone monitoring to your Canon DSLR with the Sescom Monitoring cable - DSLR FILM NOOB Tube. Duration : 3.48 Mins.

www.dslrfilmnoob.com Note: This cable does not yet work with the t3i. One of the features that makes the Canon 5d Mark III look so attractive is the new audio monitoring port. Canon should have included this port long ago, but I guess there is no point in complaining now. I've covered other methods that allow you to add headphone monitoring to your camera (See link: youtu.be ), but the Sescom USB to 3.5mm female cable is probably the most elegant. A single cable with no adapters turns out to be a pretty handy method for monitoring audio. This adapter does require Magic lantern to work properly. Also note that the audio output of the Canon t2i maxes out at 6db, which is enough to drive a normal par of headphones but the output level isn't extremely loud. If you need more volume or don't want to adjust headphone levels using the menu, I still recommend adding a headphone amplifier like the Fiio E5 to the mix. You can find the Sescom DSLR-550D-HOCF here: www.bhphotovideo.com And the Fiio Headphone pocket amplifier can be found here: www.amazon.com Equipment used in this video: Canon 7d Canon t2i Canon 24mm f1.4 Canon 35mm f1.4 Sigma 24mm f1.8 Sescom DSLR-550D cable Sennheiser G2 wireless system
