replacing audio cables on a technics 1210 mk2 part 2

replacing audio cables on a technics 1210 mk2 part 2 Video Clips. Duration : 10.02 Mins.

this is a video showing you how to change the audio cables on a technics 1200 or a 1210 as they are both the same just 1210s are black and 1200 are silver. INFO: depending on the wattage of your soldering iron depends on how long you will have to hold the tip on the conection before the solder melts, for exsample a 10 to 20 watt soldering iron will take longer than say a 25 to 40 watt soldering iron. it doesent really matter weather you use lead or lead free solder but bear in mind that lead free has a higher tin content than leaded solder and contains more flux so its harder to melt also leaded solder is soter but lead free solder is more brittle than lede solder. WARNIGS: make shure you unplug the turntable before unscrewing or opening. be careful not to breake any of the thin wires from the tone arm as they are a very delicate.

how to adjust the electronic brake on a technics 1210/1200 Video Clips. Duration : 10.07 Mins.

this is a video showing you how to adjust the electronic brake on a technics sl 1210/1200 mark 2. BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANYTHING UNPLUG THE TURNTABLE FROM THE MAINS!!! PROBLEMS YOU MAY RUN INTO: the platter my be seized on and you cant pull it off, the way to solve this isn't to pull it harder you will get nowhere insted take a small pice of wood or the handle of the screwdriver and GENTLY tap the centor spindle (the spikey bit in the middle) a few times and that should free it up, if not the plater should lift slighly even though its stuck lift it up and than tap the spindle. don't hit the spindle to hard but dont be afraid to give it a good tap...

Never turn the turntable upside down without any type of cushion under underneath it you could damage the tone arm, and be careful if youre using the turntable dust cover to support the turntable whilst its upside down the plastic they are made from is very brittle.
