In this video I show you how to quickly check the polarity of a speaker. The reason I'm using the power inverter is because it's quick and easy for me to use and it's better for demonstration purposes. You do run the risk of damaging the speaker if you check this way or with a car battery, but since the owner was going to toss these speakers away it was a great way to show how to figure which wire is positive and negative in the car. The safest way to check is just using a little 9 volt battery. It's enough to drive the speaker to see which direction it's pushing but not so much you're making it push or pull its full excursion.
